Course Status Change (student status)

Modified on Thu, Oct 5, 2023 at 3:33 PM

Coursettra offer the ability to manually override your students status in their courses.    To change a students status:

  1. Search and View the course you wish to adjust
  2. Navigate to the Student section, select to Edit
  3. Search for the student
  4. Select the Options menu
  5. Select to Change Status
  6. Choose desired status and effective date

You can update your student status in a course to any of the following:

  • Not Started: indicates the student has been added to the course, but has not yet triggered it's start.
  • In Progress:  indicates a student has started the course.    This will also trigger due dates if you have a limit on the amount of time a student has to complete a course (example:  2 weeks to complete the course)
  • Passed:   regardless of the work a student has done, setting them to a passed state will complete the course and count it towards any degree/certification requirements.    Once passed, students will no longer have access to review or retake any examinations.
  • Failed:  regardless of the work a student has done, setting them to a failed state will complete the course as if the student had failed to successfully pass any requirements.  Failed courses will NOT count towards any certification/degree requirements, and student will NOT have access to their schedule of events.
  • Expired:   Set that a student has run out of time to complete a course.   Expired courses do not count towards the requirements of a degree/certification, and student will not have access to complete any of its events.
  • Dropped:   Allows you to indicate that you are stopping a student from progressing through the course, without indicating they passed, failed or expired.    It simply stops the student where they are... while allowing you to maintaining the progress they had made up to that time.
